Don served in the Army during WWII. WWII ended one month before he arrived in Korea where he served as a Secretary. Don was out on maneuvers when the Atom Bomb was dropped, otherwise Don would have been on the beaches of Japan. In Korea, the soldiers Don replaced had been out of the war for one month. Don was on a mission for his church in Bainbridge, Georgia when Pearl Harbor was attacked. When Don returned home from his mission he was deferred because he was a farmer.
Don is affectionately known to all of his family as “Grandpa White” and he celebrated his 96th birthday last month.
We honor you, Don White.
