I am 64 years old and have been a lifelong resident of Payson City. My parents, Blaine and Lois Wright have also been lifelong residents of Payson.

I have been married for 38 years to Margaret Olson Wright, we have two sons, B.J. Wright and Matthew Wright. We have seven grandchildren, four girls and 3 boys. I also have one brother, David Wright and two sisters, Chris Olson, (Brad) and Diana Peterson, (Max) all three are lifelong residents of Payson.

For the last 31 years I have been employed by Payson City as a Police Officer. The positions I held while working for the city were: Patrol Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, Detective Lieutenant, and the department’s Public Information Officer (PIO). I am also a graduate of the F.B.I National Academy Class 229, and a graduate of the FBI Command College located in West Yellowstone.

During my 31 years with the Payson Police Department, it was my honor to teach children in the 5th and 6th grades. First teaching the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program, and most recently the Nurturing Opportunities Values and Accountability (NOVA) program.

In addition to my full-time employment with the City of Payson, I was a volunteer member of Payson City’s Ambulance Association for eight years, and a Payson City Reserve Police Officer for 6 years. On April 1, 2017, I retired from the Payson Police Department.

We honor you, Bill Wright.
