Join the Navy…, and SEE the world! Yes! Back In 1964, I was Enthralled, Excited and Full of Wonder. I felt that my new career was going to be important and challenging! I didn’t realize then that I was going to embark on a mission that would include BOTH God and Country and it would be a selfless call.

I soon found myself on a plane to boot camp in Bainbridge, Maryland for 10 weeks and then on to School to become a Radioman. The World turned out to be Millington, Tennessee at a Naval Air Station with 9000 men and 300 women. My Job was to work where I was needed in the Communications Division and hold a SECRET clearance delivering mail across the base. That was to go on for the next two and a half years. I successfully completed my duty and was sent back to Provo, Utah with an Honorable Discharge and a smile.

Years later, I married, had two sons, and became a Spanish/Leadership Teacher. Truthfully l can say that I am proud to have served at all. As for having seen the world? Well, I can accomplish that feat over the next 50 years.

We honor you, Nina Mincarelli.
