Albert Podlaski was serving with Battery B of the 51st Field Artillery Battalion during World War II. On December 1, 1944, he was wounded in action. Sergeant Podlaski was wounded when his cannon had to be repaired during a fierce battle . At the risk of his own life he repaired the cannon drawing fire from enemy guns.
