Brian Thatcher (Draper Fire Department)

1973-2018

In a post on the Draper City Fire Department Facebook Saturday, they said Fire Marshal Bryan Thatcher unexpectedly passed away at his home ‘leaving a huge void in his family and our department.’

Bryan was hired by Draper City Fire Department as its new Fire Marshal in 2017 after working 20 years in the fire service and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

“Bryan had a passion for the work he was doing and has worked very hard over the past year to build and establish our own programs within Draper City Fire Department,” said the post. “He was a true professional and loved by his Draper City and Draper City Fire family.

We are extremely saddened by this tragic event and are left trying to find the words to express our sorrow. We send our heartfelt condolences to his immediate and extended family. They will forever be part of our fire family.”

Draper City Fire expressed their appreciation for those who responded and provided care for Bryan from Unified Fire Authority stations in Herriman and for the outpouring of support, assistance, and love they have received. It does not say how Thatcher died.

We honor you, Bryan Thatcher.
