Fire Chief Steven A. Davis has served the City of Madison community since 1989. Chief Davis has held positions within the Department as Firefighter, Paramedic, Training Officer, Fire Lieutenant and Division Fire Chief of Training.

Chief Davis earned an Associates Degree in Fire Science from Madison Area Technical College, and a Bachelors of Science Degree from Columbia Southern University. Chief Davis is a State of Wisconsin Certified Fire Instructor, and has developed many training programs locally, as well as district-wide. He also has been involved with Lake Rescue, the Hazardous Incident Team, and the Heavy Urban Rescue team.

Chief Davis is a PADI Divemaster and was the former Lake Rescue Team coordinator, as well as an original member of the Department’s Technical Rescue team.
