EMT Chris Eachen

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Aug. 2, 2017)—Three Rivers Ambulance Authority (TRAA) employee Chris Eachen has received the American Ambulance Association’s Stars of Life award, which recognizes ambulance service professionals for outstanding service and dedication.

Eachen received the Stars of Life award for his compassion and dedication to high-quality patient care. He joined TRAA as an advanced emergency medical technician (EMT) in 2004 and he currently works as an EMT and as a field training officer who mentors and guides new employees.

“Chris has received numerous commendations from patients and their family members for providing high-quality quality care,” said Rob Smith, chief operation officer of Three Rivers Ambulance Authority. “We are proud that Chris is a part of the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority team.”

Eachen served as a volunteer member of TRAA’s Disaster Relief Team initiated by the State of Indiana to train volunteers to provide assistance in the event of natural disasters or mass casualty incidents. He was part of the team deployed for several weeks to Gulfport, Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. He provided medical assistance, EMS response and assisted with food and water distribution.

He also gives back to the Fort Wayne community. Eachen participates in the Explorer Program, which invites students ages 14 to 19 who are interested in working in EMS to TRAA for an inside look into the industry, and volunteers with local Boy Scout troops and church organizations.

Eachen was one of 108 emergency service personnel recognized during the Stars of Life Celebration in Washington, D.C. on June 12-14.

We honor you, Chris Eachen.
